About

Virtus Roma has played in Rome since 1960. It won the Italian league in 1983, the European Champions' Cup in 1984, and left the top division in 2020. DOONT Studio works alongside Bright on the club's new chapter, across brand, marketing, apparel, architecture and interiors. The first pieces to show are the 2026/27 kits, developed with adidas.

MORE

The club came back from the third tier and recovered its historic name in 2025. That is the condition everything else starts from. Nothing here is invented, because the club is not trying to become something else — it is trying to be recognised again.

So the work goes to the archive before it goes to the drawing board. The yellow and maroon diamond stays. ROMA stays across the chest, set in a collegiate face heavy enough to read from the top row and from a phone. What changes is the register: the kit is drawn through the language of NBA All-Star uniforms, where colour blocks and side panels are graphic events rather than trim. The result is a shirt that carries 1960 and reads as 2026.

The first proposal, the Heritage Series, ran five colourways — Bordeaux, Sky Blue, Golden Yellow, Blue and White. From there, six kit configurations were documented with adidas for development, front, side and back, with numbering, typography, crest placement and panel geometry resolved for production.

The merchandising extends the same system off the court: caps that say ROMA on one line and VIRTUS ROMA on another, a scarf in club colours, shirts dated 1960–2026. A basketball brand is worn in the street more often than in the arena, and the range is built for that.

The kits are the first visible piece of a longer brief. Brand, marketing, architecture and interiors are in progress.
