Fly

The social level is one continuous room. A black kitchen island with a fluted base faces the marble-topped dining table under a cluster of woven pendants; a suspended black fireplace floats at the glass line; a black steel shelving unit orders the living wall. Because the owner cooks in every way there is, fire is a program in itself: wood-fired oven, kamado, American gas grill, gas and electric ovens, distributed between the kitchen and a quincho that opens and closes to the canal — a covered social room with its own kitchen, long table and lounge.

The owner's other passion, sailing, runs through the house as detail: a circular louvered window reads as a porthole, and the top-floor terrace — the flybridge that names the house — is furnished with a round solid-wood table and woven-back chairs over a wood deck, facing the water. The staircase steps in travertine and wood behind its three-meter coplanar glass balustrade; linear concrete patios planted with monsteras cast moving shadows through the day, and the main bathroom pairs a freestanding tub and black fittings with its own planted patio.
